Frannie
Ali is thrilled to be cast as Frannie in Hellmark. She's a recent graduate from Grant MacEwan University where you may have seen her as Schwartzy in Putnam County Spelling Bee or as the roving violinist in Natasha, Pierre, and the great Comet of 1812. In recent fringes she was Mrs. Tucker in Sam's Clam and Oyster Bar and Tooter in Practically Perfect Pitch. She's excited to be working in this years festival with Darkstage!
Nutmeg
Andrew is an actor, artist and animator. They attended MacEwan University's Theatre Arts Program (the last year in the Orange Hub). This character has been so exciting to explore. A great chance to experiment with movement, voice, and being a creature. This is Andrew's third show with the Edmonton Fringe, appearing last year as Adam in "Pair of Guys Lost" (also with Darkstage Productions), and previously as Velma in "Scoobie Doosical" (Dammitammy).

Joy Frost
Chelsea is thrilled to be making her Edmonton Fringe Festival debut in a David Son production. While she cannot legally confirm the rumours that she may have committed several minor crimes to land a role in one of David's shows, she can say that the opportunity means a great deal to her. When not on stage, Chelsea maintains what many would consider an unhealthy relationship with Hallmark Christmas movies. She has seen so many of them that she is now qualified to identify the third-act misunderstanding within the first seven minutes.
Previous recent credits include Shannon in Popstars! The 90's Musical (Bears With Knives), Valerie in A Party to Murder (Walterdale), and Mopsa in Head Over Heels (Leduc Drama Society).
Finally, Chelsea would like to thank her husband Cody, her stepson Riley, four incredibly patient cats, and one long-suffering dog for enduring the rehearsal process, endless line runs, random bursts of singing, and the general chaos that comes with putting on a musical. She loves you all more than a Hallmark heroine loves returning home to save a Christmas tree farm.
Krystal Frost
Francesca Scarpella is an Italo-Canadian artist based in Edmonton, Alberta and is so excited to be making her Darkstage Productions debut! She just completed her second year in the BFA Music Theatre Performance program at MacEwan University, and also sings lead vocals for the Edmonton-based hard rock band Petrichord (stream our debut EP The Garden)! She has worked professionally with a myriad of companies, including Jubilations Dinner Theatre, Freewill Shakespeare Players, and Nuova Vocal Arts. Recent credits include Elsie in Harry Popper and the Frozen Princess (Jubilations Junior); the Witch in Into the Woods (MacEwan University); and Diana Barry in Anne of Green Gables (Nuova Vocal Arts). You can catch her in the fall as Maureen in MacEwan's production of Rent! She is so excited to share this chilling musical with you all and hopes you enjoy the show!
Sebastian
Jeremey is excited to be in the cast of… this show! He was born in Guadalajara and raised in the Sahara desert. His family was a group of born again circus performers and he was primarily raised by the caged elephants they travelled with. Luckily for him, they drank all the kool-aid at that Y2K "Homecoming for Jesus" party and after their funerals, he was sent to live in an orphanage here in Edmonton in 2001. Selected past credits include: "Once" (the Walterdale Theatre), "Voldemort and the Teenage Hogwarts Parody" (Darkstage Productions), "Stranger Sings!" (Dark Stage Productions), and "RENT" (Elope musical theatre). He is also producing and starring in "Oh Henny! Presents the First Annual Ms. Hennyverse Pageant" (Beepboop productions) across the street at the Grindstone Theatre. Come check it out!
Bexley
Mana Middleton (she/her) is an incoming fourth-year Music Theatre Performance major at MacEwan University and a graduate of Victoria School of the Arts and the Citadel Theatre's Young Company. Select performance credits include A Chorus Line, Carrie (MacEwan University), Cinderella (Festival Players), Shrek, The Prom (Opera Nuova), Legally Blonde (Victoria School), and Working: A Musical (Citadel Theatre Young Company).
Bexley Understudy
Josephine has been performing for most of her life, this year was her Fringe debut! Josephine is a graduate of Randolph College for the Performing Arts in Toronto and a recipient of their Triple Threat Award. Some of her previous credits include Pamela in Head Over Heels (Leduc Drama Society), Charlotte in Cinderella, Mrs. Beauregarde in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (Festival Place), Georgette in Amélie (Elope), Wanda in Beehive (SADT), and Judith in Let it Be Beatles (Jubilations). This Fringe Josephine also starred in Rivercity the Musical (Dammitammy Productions). This summer has truly been a whirlwind experience and one of the craziest things she's ever done but Josephine is extremely grateful to get to share the stage with such a talented bunch of artists even if for a short time.
Evan
Seth is a pharmacist by day, and sexy lumberjack by night. Seth has co-written several musicals showcased at the Edmonton Fringe with his partner Stephen including Cult Cycle, Imaginary Friend, Conjoined and Final Girl. He apparently has a penchant for Christmas horror, having also co-wrote the Sterling Award winning musical Krampus, featured in Workshop West's 2024-2025 season. He hopes this production brings you a ton of holiday joy... and maybe a touch of holiday fear.
Prunella
Sunshine is over the moon to be a part of a Darkstage Productions show as her first Fringe show! Sunshine was born in the Philippines and loves karaoke more than food. Past performances include Popstars the Musical (Bears-with-Knives Production), Avenue Q (Foote-in-the-Door Productions), and Cry-Baby the Musical (Leduc Drama Society). Sunshine would like to thank her friends, family, and husband for always supporting her. Enjoy the show!
Music Director
Grace Huang is thrilled to be back working with DarkStage Productions as Musical Director (MD). Her music training began at the age of five, thanks to the unwavering support of her parents, who enrolled her in both piano and violin lessons. She holds ARCT certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in Piano Performance and has completed Grade 10 in violin.
Grace began her pit orchestra journey in 2012 and has since performed in over 40 musical theatre productions across Edmonton and the surrounding area. Selected past credits include Cinderella (Festival Players; violin), Stranger Sings! The Musical Parody (DarkStage Productions; MD and keyboard), The Bridges of Madison County (ELOPE; violin), and Avenue Q (Foote in the Door Productions; MD and keyboard).
Grace is filled with gratitude for the opportunity to help bring another production to life with such an inspiring and talented team.
Stage Manager
Tim is happily alternating between onstage and backstage roles, and both in this show! He's happy to join the Darkstage crew for Fringe. He's the silent "lo" in Con-"lo"-witz Productions (@conwitzproductions) and he dabbles in a bit of everything: producing, acting, singing, stage managing, directing, marketing, master of none. He's also worked with Foote in the Door Productions (@footeinthedoor), Trinity Players (@trinityplayersyeg), Edmonton Opera (@edmontonopera) and Chronos Vocal Ensemble (@chronosvocal). Thanks to this amazing theatre family! Glad tidings to all and a Happy Hellmark to you.
